A fine bronze statue can freeze a moment in time, with all the motion of the memory and feelings of that moment, which can then be kept forever.

For 12 years I worked in the design group of Mercury Marine, in the heartland of this country. There we used clay as an everyday tool to sculpt boat engines as big as 6’ tall. As the director of design I used clay for full size models of a design for engines, boat steering wheels, controls and other accessories. The clay allowed me to design the future– new and fresh products that had not existed before. Now, in my bronze artwork, I try to capture distant memories, and the emotion of an event either true or imagined. Some dramatic and memorable times in life can be associated with that special car.

Automotive art is my passion! Some of us choose to remember our cars as if they had a spirit of their own. I try to capture in my art what may be your memories of a car running flat out at high speed, or sitting still, or just part of the place and time that means so much to you. I also try to infuse an element of rare circumstance that results in a humorous “big fish” story, when viewed. Having the bronze car makes these memories come to life over and over again.
